The Founding of Integra

Integra Partners, IPA, was established in 2006 to provide powerful and functional solutions for the DME and O&P industries. Integra services have helped eliminate deficiencies in the United States DME and O&P systems resulting in the improvement of patient care while reducing costs and enhancing efficiencies for insurance payors and providers.

The Problem
The existing system of insurance regulation and limited eligibility created unfavorable results for all parties involved in the provision of healthcare. New providers of orthotic and prosthetics (O&P) or durable medical equipment (DME) supplies entering the market are faced with enormous barriers to entry making it difficult, if not impossible, to develop their businesses. Under the existing system, new healthcare providers are required to obtain approval from individual insurance companies in order to become part of their provider networks and to become eligible to accept a wider range of insurance policies from patients. Yet, from the insurance company’s perspective, any new healthcare provider accepted into its network results in an increase in time-consuming administrative duties with little additional income to compensate. Therefore, when an insurance company’s network is already saturated with O&P providers or DME suppliers in a certain area, such companies will likely deny otherwise qualified provider applications for that particular location.

Consequently, the ability of many DME suppliers and O&P providers to succeed is severely limited, as large portions of the population are cut off from their reach because of the denial of accessibility by insurance companies. More importantly, however, the patients have suffered on all accounts; healthcare providers within certain networks are too busy managing the myriad of details, struggling with understanding claim submission rules and fighting claim denials to appropriately address the needs of their patients. Additionally, the patient’s ability to choose their own healthcare provider is obstructed by their insurance company’s minimal list of suitable providers.

The Solution
To remedy this complex predicament, Integra was formed as an “IPA” (an Independent Practice Association) to introduce the healthcare industry to a superior way of operating business and caring for patients. At Integra, our goal is to provide the solution for all.

The Power of Integra
Integra presents a single point of contact for all parties involved in the DME and O&P equation. Providers who become members of Integra are granted access to a significantly broader scope of patients with a wider range of insurance coverage. In addition, by managing all aspects of complex insurance transactions from claim verification and submission to denial management, Integra makes it possible for healthcare providers to focus on providing the finest level of care for patients. Similarly, Integra benefits health plans by allowing them to deal with one company while simultaneously expanding their business network and provider availability for patients. As a result, insurance payors reduce costs, increase efficiencies and seamlessly gain access to a larger network of providers

Integra facilitates a completely synergistic environment where providers and health plans are able to maximize their potential, patients are given more freedom to chose their own services, and, above all, every participant in the industry is able to provide the utmost level of care for patients in need.

That’s the power of Integra!

Simplifying the business of DME and O&P!
